Israel-Iran Tensions: Explosions as Air Defenses Engage in Isfahan

Amid reports of explosions near a major airbase in Isfahan province by the state media, Iran has fired air defence batteries as regional tensions rise following Iran’s retaliatory strike on Israel after an attack against its diplomatic premises in Syria.
According to reports, Israel launched a missile attack against a site in Iran, citing a senior US official, but there was no word from Israel and Iran on the alleged attack.
Flights in several Iranian cities have been suspended, as there were also reports of explosions in Syria and Iraq.
The escalation comes more than six months into Israel’s devastating war on the Gaza Strip, which has killed nearly 34,000 people, and heightens fears of a spiral of violence across the region.
State TV Reports Normal Operations at Nuclear Site Near Isfahan
State TV has confirmed that the nuclear site near Isfahan is operating under regular conditions, with no indication of explosion or damage.
Though the specific site was not named, it's noted that Natanz, Iran's main nuclear facility, is located north of Isfahan and has experienced sabotage incidents in the past, including a controlled explosion in 2021.
No Missile Attack in Iran: Official
An official from Iran's National Centre of Cyberspace has categorically denied any missile attack on the country. Hossein Dalirian stated that there was no air assault on Isfahan or any other region from external borders. He mentioned that Israel's attempted drone activity was unsuccessful and that any drones were swiftly intercepted.
Iranian state media corroborated this, stating that air defense systems were activated across multiple areas overnight as a precaution, but there were no reports of any actual impact or explosions. They assured that all facilities, including nuclear installations, remained secure.
