In a disturbing turn of events, Jamie Foxx, renowned for his roles in films like Collateral, is currently entangled in serious allegations. A lawsuit, obtained by TMZ on Nov. 22, claims that the Oscar winner sexually assaulted a woman in August 2015 during an incident at Catch NYC & Roof.
The day following the revelation, a spokesperson for Foxx issued a statement to E! News, asserting, "The alleged incident never happened. In 2020, this individual filed a nearly identical lawsuit in Brooklyn. That case was dismissed shortly after that. The claims are no more viable today than they were then. We are confident they will be dismissed again. And once they are, Mr. Foxx intends to pursue a claim for malicious prosecution against this person and her attorneys for re-filing this frivolous action."
According to TMZ's report on the lawsuit, the unnamed plaintiff detailed that she was dining at the New York City restaurant when she noticed Foxx nearby. Around 1 a.m., her friend reportedly requested Foxx to take a photo with them. Allegedly responding with flattery, Foxx complimented her physique and fragrance.
The plaintiff contends that Foxx later escorted her to another area on the rooftop, where the assault occurred. The lawsuit accuses him of inappropriate touching, including reaching under her top and into her pants, causing her emotional distress and necessitating medical treatment for her injuries.
Foxx, previously in a high-profile relationship with Katie Holmes from 2013 to 2019, garnered attention earlier this year for a different reason when he was hospitalized in April due to an undisclosed health scare. In a subsequent Instagram post, the 55-year-old expressed gratitude for the support and addressed concerns about his condition.
While Foxx refuted rumours of paralysis or blindness, he acknowledged the challenges he faced, stating, "It's been tough, man." As the legal battle unfolds, Jamie Foxx confronts serious allegations that could have a profound impact on his career and personal life.
