Ogun State Government Offers N50 Million Reward for Information on Senior Civil Servant's Killers

The Ogun State Government has taken a decisive step in seeking justice for the tragic killing of Mr. Taiwo Oyekanmi, the former Director of Finance and Administration attached to Governor Dapo Abiodun's office. The 51-year-old chartered accountant met an untimely demise on November 29, under distressing circumstances.
Last Wednesday, Oyekanmi, accompanied by two others, fell victim to gun-wielding assailants at the Kuto Flyover Bridge in Abeokuta. The assailants targeted the trio, who were on their way back to the Governor's Office, carrying a substantial amount of money withdrawn from major banks in Abeokuta.
Expressing his profound sorrow, Governor Dapo Abiodun vowed not to rest until justice is served for the slain senior civil servant. The state government, in an official statement released on Friday, declared a significant reward of N50 million for any individual providing crucial information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators.
The statement emphasizes the government's commitment to ensuring that those responsible for this heinous crime face the full extent of the law. The shocking incident has left the governor's cabinet in a state of devastation and trauma, further highlighting the gravity of the loss.
As investigations intensify, the substantial reward stands as a testament to Ogun State's determination to bring the culprits to justice and provide closure to the grieving family and community. The call for public cooperation underscores the collective responsibility in upholding security and justice within the state.
