Our expert has delivered his latest selection of match predictions ahead of the next weekend of Premier League football in 2024-25.

Matchday 23 will see all 10 matches crammed in across Saturday and Sunday, giving the top sides time to prepare for a key round of continental action next week.  Four matches on Sunday include Fulham taking on Manchester United, who are under pressure once again after losing against Brighton and Hove Albion last time out in the top flight.

Bournemouth are given the edge over Nottingham Forest as two surprise members of the top seven in the Premier League table do battle on Saturday.

Both teams are enjoying remarkable campaigns, but Bournemouth have the advantage in this particular head-to-head, going unbeaten in their last nine league meetings against Forest, with five wins.

Arsenal are another away side deemed likely to take all three points over Wolves at Molineux.

Wolves have lost 18 of their last 20 Premier League games against sides starting the day in the top two positions in the table, the exceptions being 2-1 victories against Manchester City and Tottenham in 2023.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have won eight of their 10 top-flight away games against Wolves (two defeats), their highest win rate (80%) against any side they have faced more than five times on the road in the competition.

In Saturday’s late kick-off, Manchester City face Chelsea in a heavyweight clash at the Etihad Stadium, with Pep Guardiola’s hosts desperate to bounce back from Wednesday’s Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

In the Premier League, City have turned something of a corner lately. They have won three of their last four league games, drawing the other, having only won one of their previous nine matches from the start of November (D2 L6). They have scored 14 goals in their last four games, more than they had managed in their previous 11 matches. combined.
