Flying Car with Switchable Mode Successfully Takes to the Skies for the First Time

The inaugural flight of the Samson Switchblade flying car took place at Grant County International Airport in Moses Lake, Washington. Soaring to an impressive altitude of 500 feet on its maiden voyage, the Switchblade, piloted by veteran Robert Moehle, gracefully traversed above the airport and surrounding foothills. Remaining airborne for nearly six minutes, Moehle expertly guided the aircraft before gently touching down.
Beyond its flying capabilities, the Switchblade stands out as a three-wheel street-legal vehicle, conveniently storable in a standard garage. Owners can seamlessly transition from road to air by driving to a nearby airport, where the wings extend, and the tail unfolds in under three minutes. Once airborne, the aircraft can reach speeds of up to 200mph, covering a range of 450 miles and ascending to altitudes of 13,000 feet.
