UK General Election 2024: Rishi Sunak, Keir Starmer Seek PM Race Win

Voters across the United Kingdom are casting ballots today to decide if the Conservative Party leader, Rishi Sunak, will remain in the top job or if Keir Starmer, of the main opposition Labour Party, will become prime minister.
Polling stations opened at 7am and will close 10pm local time (06:00 GMT to 21:00 GMT).
Voters will, also, elect 650 lawmakers representing as many constituencies.
The party with a majority in the House of Commons, either alone or with the support of another party, is responsible for forming the next government, and its leader becomes the prime minister.
Muhammad Meman, founder of the Palitics platform, states that Britain’s main political parties have largely dismissed public demands to advocate for an immediate ceasefire in Israel’s conflict with Gaza.
“This disconnect between ordinary citizens and their elected representatives has become starkly apparent. Regular protests in London, drawing diverse crowds of 250,000 to 750,000 people – including Jews, Christians, Muslims, and those of no faith – have highlighted this divide,” Meman said, adding the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement “has gained unprecedented awareness”.
“British people are horrified as they witness the massacres in Gaza, with some questioning whether British arms and international support have enabled Israel’s actions.”
Matters of Economy, Health, Immigration and assylum are burning issues that will determine voters political behaviour as well as the turnout of votes during this election.
